Adventure Ashram's donation of £84,000 will pay for a community centre to be built in Spiti Valley, Himalayas, that show cases modern design technology to harness energy from the sun. To be able to harness the power of the sun within the fabric of the building, to heat water and make electricity could help relieve many of the physical and financial pressures of living in this harsh environment. Mapping children's health over a number of years is a key activity of Adventure Ashram's health project that runs regular clinics with doctor, health worker and a facility to purchase medicines. Visit our projects page to find out more
Working mothers are able to leave their children at a creche to be cared for by dedicated staff, provided with nutritious meals and given a basic education.
