How your support changes lives: Samitha's story

Samitha is 13 years old and lives in a tribal settlement in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, South India. Samitha's family faced harsh financial circumstances after her father passed away when she was 3 years old, leaving Samitha without many life opportunities.

After our Indian grassroots partner, Grace Charitable Trust, opened a tuition centre close to her home, Samitha and her younger brother, Balraj, began to regularly attend the centre and receive educational support, access to computers, as well as arts and crafts materials and sports activities. Samitha is very caring and likes to help look after the younger children that attend the centre by helping them use the computers and making crafts. Samitha is also ambitious and with the support of Grace Charitable Trust, is now excelling in her studies in the 8th grade.
